Q: What got you into design?
A: The thing that got me into design more than wanting to make things look cool was the idea of being able to solve problems visually. Most people see design as just a form of making things look nice, but when a design goes deeper than that and solves a fundamental problem that is when it becomes a good design. The reason I started designing more for ultimate was because I saw an opportunity to solve a communication problem in ultimate using design.
Q: What is your favorite design at the moment? yours or just something that's out there.
A: I don’t know if I have one particular favorite design at the moment because there is so much out there but something I really liked that was done recently was the Mailchimp rebrand. I think they just did an amazing job with the whole design and solving some of their issues with the past brand.
Q: What do you use to design?
A: I mainly use Photoshop and Illustrator to do all my design work.
Q: Do you have any tips for any customers coming to you for designs?
A: Have some ideas for what you like or want. Giving me examples of things you think are cool or interesting will help me get you the best possible product. Be as detailed and brutally honest with your feedback as possible. Try and think of reasons as to why you like or dislike something instead of just saying you like it or you don’t.
