Captain is a BE Ultimate original docuseries that takes you inside the reality of leadership at the highest level of college Ultimate. Following Mika Kurahashi, Dexter Clyburn, and Erica Birdsong, the series documents what it truly means to carry the responsibility of guiding a team through College Nationals 2025.

With the release of Episode 1 — To Lead, the journey begins. Watch it now.

Episode 1 - To Lead

Leadership isn’t one thing — and it doesn’t look the same for everyone.

In this episode, each captain reflects on their own leadership style and what the role demands of them. For some, it’s leading by example: putting in the work when no one is watching. For others, it’s being a steady voice — speaking up when clarity is needed, or staying quiet when presence matters more than words.

The episode explores leadership as:

- Being the example your team can follow
- Advocating for teammates and creating space for others
- Lifting a group when momentum is down
- Putting the team first, even when it’s hard
- Staying composed under pressure

This is leadership as action, not title. The unseen work. The emotional weight. The responsibility of holding belief for others when things start to slip.

A series about more than a game

Shot throughout the College Nationals weekend, Captain goes beyond highlights and results. It captures the decisions, conversations, and internal moments that define leadership at the college level — moments that rarely make the stat sheet but shape a season.

This blog will be updated as each episode launches. Check back as the story continues.
